Buylist & Selling Cards Policy

Our buylist allows customers to submit trading cards for assessment and receive an offer in cash or Side Quest Cards store credit.

Buylist submissions are made online. Customers may also bring cards into the store, where staff can assist with creating a submission.

Accepted Products

Our standard buylist may accept:

  • Raw trading card singles (Near Mint and Mint condition only)

Sealed products, accessories and other collectibles may be considered by prior arrangement. Examples are:

  • Graded cards
  • Bulk cards
  • Larger collections

We may decline any item at our discretion, including cards that are counterfeit, altered, damaged, commercially unsuitable, inaccurately submitted or outside our current purchasing needs.

Seller Requirements

Sellers must be at least 12 years old.

Sellers aged 12–15 must have a parent or legal guardian approve and complete the transaction. We may request parent or guardian involvement for any seller under 18.

We may request:

  • Full legal name and contact details
  • Residential address
  • Photo identification
  • Parent, guardian or emergency contact information where relevant
  • Additional information for higher-value or unusual submissions

These checks help protect legitimate card owners and reduce the risk of stolen or fraudulently obtained cards entering the community.

Submitting Cards

All online buylist estimates are provisional until the cards have been physically received and assessed.

The final offer may change based on:

  • Card identity and edition
  • Condition
  • Authenticity
  • Current demand and market value
  • Existing stock levels
  • The accuracy of the original submission

If an offer is revised, you may accept or decline it. We will not complete the purchase at a revised amount without your approval.

You may proceed with accepted cards while declining the sale of other cards in the same submission.

Final offers remain available for three business days unless otherwise stated.

Seller Declaration

By submitting cards, you confirm that:

  • You own the cards or have authority to sell them
  • The cards are not stolen
  • The cards are authentic to the best of your knowledge
  • Known alterations, damage or restoration have been disclosed
  • The information in your submission is accurate

GST-registered sellers must provide their ABN and any tax information or documentation reasonably required to process the transaction.

Posted Submissions

The seller is responsible for securely packaging and sending cards to Side Quest Cards.

The seller pays the cost of sending the submission and bears the transit risk until it is delivered to us. Tracked and appropriately insured postage is strongly recommended.

If we decline 20 or fewer cards after assessment, we will ordinarily cover standard return postage.

Where more than 20 cards need to be returned, the seller may be asked to pay the return-postage cost or collect the cards from our Yamanto store.

We will cover reasonable return costs where the return is required because of an error by Side Quest Cards.

Payment

Accepted cash offers may be paid:

  • In cash at the store; or
  • By bank transfer

Higher-value transactions will generally be paid by bank transfer.

Payment will normally be issued within three business days after the final offer is accepted and any required checks are completed.

Store credit may be issued as a Shopify gift card or an in-store POS account balance, depending on the seller’s location and intended use.

Buylist store credit:

  • Does not expire
  • May be used online and in store
  • May be used for products, preorders and event tickets
  • Is non-transferable
  • Cannot be redeemed for cash

Unclaimed or Unresolved Submissions

Please respond promptly to revised offers or return arrangements.

We will ordinarily hold unresolved cards for up to 30 days while making reasonable attempts to contact the seller. Additional return or collection arrangements may be required after this period.
